Hermes’ new Sydney store is a bold transformation of a historic building that looks to the future. The store occupies the ground and lower ground floors of the Trust Building on King Street, which was built between 1914 and 1916 as the home of The Daily Telegraph newspaper. The 12-storey, steel-framed building was one of the first skyscrapers in Sydney. For this story I interviewed the store's Paris-based architect, Denis Montel.
